Outlook Promotions test: does Microsoft 365 tag your email?
Get a one-time address in a real Microsoft 365 business mailbox (Defender for Office 365, default settings). Send your newsletter, receipt or alert to it the way you normally send, and see whether Outlook tags it as Promotions, with the bulk complaint level (BCL), the spam verdict and the folder it landed in.

How it works
- Click the button to get an address like
promotest+a1b2c3d4e5f6@donrulezz.onmicrosoft.com. - Add it to your list or send a copy of the email from the tool you really use (Mailchimp, HubSpot, your app's mail serverβ¦). A test from a different tool or domain tells you little.
- Keep the result page open. It refreshes until the message arrives, usually within two minutes.
Already have the message in a Microsoft 365 mailbox elsewhere? Paste its headers instead.
What you'll see
- Promotions tag: Microsoft stamps
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-BulkCategory: Promotionson tagged mail. - BCL, spam verdict and folder (Inbox or Junk Email).
- SPF, DKIM, DMARC and unsubscribe headers as Microsoft 365 saw them.
The test message stays in our Microsoft 365 test mailbox; the report reads only its headers. Don't send anything private. To have a test deleted sooner, email hello@mailpassed.com.
