“[SUPPLEMENTAL] Brand Logo not appearing in inboxes” – what it means
Verdict: Optional. There is no BIMI record (or no valid logo), so inboxes can't show your logo next to your mail. It is optional and doesn't affect delivery. Gmail needs DMARC enforcement plus a VMC or CMC certificate to show a logo.
What the warning checks
BIMI is a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain that points to an SVG Tiny-PS logo (and, for Gmail and Apple, a certificate).
Does it hurt email delivery?
- Requirements: DMARC at
p=quarantineorp=reject, a square SVG Tiny-PS logo over HTTPS. - Gmail shows logos with a VMC (registered trademark) or a CMC (logo shown publicly on your site for 12 months).
- Apple Mail needs a VMC. Some other receivers show self-asserted logos without a certificate.
What to do
- Get DMARC to enforcement first – DMARC generator.
- Publish
v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomain/logo.svg;with an SVG Tiny-PS file (this clears the warning). - Add a VMC or CMC later if logos in Gmail matter to you.
Check what actually matters
SPF, DKIM and DMARC decide whether Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo accept your mail.
After the fix, send a test email to see SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass on a real message, then keep an eye on it: free DMARC monitoring shows every service that sends mail as your domain and which ones fail, in plain English.
