Gmail 550 5.7.24: suspicious entries in your SPF record

What the bounce means and the exact steps to stop it.

The bounce looks like this
550-5.7.24 The SPF record of the sending domain has one or more suspicious entries.

What it means

Gmail does not trust what your SPF record allows – typically +all or ?all (anyone may send), huge IP ranges, or ptr mechanisms. Records like that make spoofing easy, so Gmail limits or blocks the mail.

How to fix it

  1. Run the checker – it flags +all, ?all, ptr and lookup problems.
  2. Rebuild the record with only your real senders using the SPF generator, ending in ~all or -all.
  3. Replace very wide ranges (like a whole /8 or /16) with the exact IPs or the provider's include.
