SPF, DKIM and DMARC for Shopify Email
Short answer: Shopify Email mail passes Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft checks when you turn on DKIM with your own domain
and publish a DMARC record at _dmarc (start with p=none). The exact records and clicks are below.

Step by step
- In the Shopify admin open Settings → Notifications → Sender email and enter an address on your own domain.
- Domain bought through Shopify? It is authenticated automatically. On Cloudflare, GoDaddy or IONOS Shopify can add the records for you.
- Otherwise click the authentication link and copy every CNAME record it shows into your DNS.
- Add DMARC yourself: a TXT record at
_dmarcwithv=DMARC1; p=none;. Shopify does not add it. - The status moves from Propagating to Authenticated; DNS can take up to 48 hours.
Mistakes that break it
- Two DMARC records make DMARC fail, and Shopify then rewrites your sender address to a shopifyemail.com one. Keep one.
- Strict alignment (
adkim=soraspf=s) in your DMARC record: Shopify recommends relaxed (r). - Don't delete the CNAME records later, even if everything looks fine: mail starts bouncing without them.
