SPF, DKIM and DMARC for Hostinger Email
Short answer: Hostinger Email mail passes Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft checks when you turn on DKIM with your own domain, add include:_spf.mail.hostinger.com to your one SPF record
and publish a DMARC record at _dmarc (start with p=none). The exact records and clicks are below.
| SPF | TXT at @ | v=spf1 include:_spf.mail.hostinger.com ~allThis include covers Hostinger's own mail relay and the MailChannels relay it sends through. Combine with your other senders → |
|---|---|---|
| DKIM | CNAME / TXT | Three CNAME records: hostingermail-a._domainkey → hostingermail-a.dkim.mail.hostinger.com, and the same for hostingermail-b and hostingermail-c. |
| DMARC | TXT at _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.comStart with p=none and a
mailbox you read, or a free report address that turns the reports into a dashboard; build your own. |
Step by step
- Domain on Hostinger nameservers? In hPanel → Emails pick the domain and use the automatic setup: Hostinger adds MX, SPF and DKIM for you. Then go straight to the DMARC step.
- DNS somewhere else (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, your registrar)? Add two MX records at
@:mx1.hostinger.com(priority 5) andmx2.hostinger.com(priority 10), and delete the old MX records. - Add the SPF include below to your one SPF record at
@. - Add the three DKIM CNAME records exactly as listed (CNAME, not TXT).
- Publish DMARC at
_dmarcwithp=none. The automatic setup does not add it. - DNS changes can take up to 24 hours; then check the domain below.
Mistakes that break it
- Hostinger sells both Hostinger Email and Titan. Check your MX:
mx1.hostinger.commeans Hostinger Email,mx1.titan.emailmeans Titan, and the records are different (see the Titan guide). - Two SPF records (say, an old one from your previous host plus Hostinger's) make SPF fail. Merge them into one.
- Only
hostingermail-aholds a key at the moment;-band-cshow an empty key. That is normal: add all three CNAMEs so key changes on Hostinger's side keep working. - Newsletters sent with Hostinger Reach need their own DKIM records on top of these.
