SPF, DKIM and DMARC for Wix Email Marketing (Ascend)
Short answer: Wix Email Marketing (Ascend) mail passes Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft checks when you turn on DKIM with your own domain
and publish a DMARC record at _dmarc (start with p=none). The exact records and clicks are below.
| SPF | — | Not needed on your root domain: the sg CNAME becomes the return-path and carries Wix's own SPF record, so SPF passes and aligns with your domain. Don't add a Wix include to your root SPF record. |
|---|---|---|
| DKIM | CNAME / TXT | CNAME records Wix shows under Authenticate this domain: s1._domainkey and s2._domainkey (DKIM) plus sg (return-path), each pointing to a host like s1._domainkey.yourdomain.com.s013.ascendbywix.com. The s0.. part differs per account, so copy the values exactly. |
| DMARC | TXT at _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.comStart with p=none and a
mailbox you read, or a free report address that turns the reports into a dashboard; build your own. |
Step by step
- In your Wix dashboard open Email Marketing → Sender Details → Manage Senders and add a sender name and an address on your own domain.
- Enter the confirmation code Wix emails to that address.
- Under Domain status click Authenticate this domain to see the CNAME list.
- Add each CNAME at your DNS host. Domain bought from Wix? Wix authenticates it for you.
- Refresh Domain status after a few hours (up to 24) until it says authenticated.
Mistakes that break it
- Already have a DMARC record? Skip Wix's DMARC CNAME (the one for
_dmarc): a CNAME and a TXT record can't share that name, and the DMARC record you control is the one you want to keep. - Most DNS panels want only
s1._domainkeyorsgin the host field, not the full name, or it gets doubled. - On Cloudflare, set every CNAME to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.
- Until the domain is authenticated, Wix sends your campaigns from its own domain, so recipients see "via" or a different address.
